As The Regret Wall (hereinafter referred to as the "Platform"), we attach utmost importance to the protection of our users' personal data, strict decoupled logging, and data privacy in accordance with Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK"). This text explains our data processing methodologies and user rights.
1. Data Controller
The Regret Wall acts as the data controller regarding personal data processed through the platform. Our platform is built upon strict anonymity.
- •Your submissions are entirely anonymous by default.
- •Linking a profile or creating an account is completely voluntary.
- •Email inquiries sent to support@theregretwall.com are handled in strict confidence.
2. Processed Personal Data and Purposes of Processing
We process minimal technical data to maintain platform security, protect minors under 18, power AI reflections, and uphold legal obligations.
- •Identity & Verification Data: Username, email address, and immutable birth date collected solely for age group verification (+18 vs. under 18).
- •Usage & Security Data: Decoupled connection logs (IP addresses are strictly decoupled from confession text), temporary claim tokens, and session preferences.
- •Purposes of Processing: DDoS and spam prevention, minor protection and +18 sensitive content shielding, providing the 10-minute undo grace period, and generating philosophical reflections.
3. Transfer of Processed Personal Data
Your personal data is never sold or traded for commercial gain. We partner with secure infrastructure providers solely to maintain technical operations.
- •Database & Edge Infrastructure (Supabase, Cloudflare): Encrypted data storage, SSL certificates, and security filtering.
- •Google AdSense & Analytics: Contextual ads for free-tier users and anonymized traffic measurement.
- •AI Providers: Texts analyzed for moderation and reflection are transmitted completely anonymously without user identifiers.
- •Legal Obligations: Compliance with lawful requests issued by authorized judicial bodies.
4. Method and Legal Basis of Personal Data Collection
Personal data is collected electronically via web interfaces, session cookies, and registration forms.
- •Collection Method: Direct input, browser cookies, and encrypted submission endpoints.
- •Legal Basis: Legitimate interests of the data controller, establishment and performance of a contract, and explicit user consent under KVKK Article 5.
