COMMUNITY RULES & GUIDELINES
Principles of a Shared Sanctuary
1. The Foundation of Anonymity
The Wall is built on the principle of radical honesty through anonymity. To maintain this sanctuary, you are anonymous to all other users. However, anonymity is not a shield for harm. For the safety of our global community, our system securely logs technical origin data. This data is only ever accessed in the event of severe platform abuse or legal necessity.
- —Do not attempt to 'dox' or reveal the identity of any other user.
- —Avoid including personal identifiable information (PII) in your own posts.
- —Profiles are optional; they exist to help you track your own release, not to identify you to others.
2. Authenticity & The Nature of Regret
We define a regret as a genuine emotional reflection on a past action or inaction. The Wall is a repository for human feeling, not a generic social media feed. Every submission should be a single, genuine expression of regret or a confession.
- —Avoid 'story dumping' or posting long-form fiction. Focus on the core emotion.
- —Spam, advertisements, and repetitive commercial content are strictly prohibited.
- —Do not use the platform for political campaigning or organized propaganda.
3. Safety & Zero Tolerance for Hate
This is a space for healing, not for causing further pain. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards any content that promotes hate, violence, or discrimination. Our AI Guardian and human moderators work together to enforce these standards.
- —Hate speech based on race, religion, gender, or orientation is banned.
- —Direct threats of violence or harassment against individuals will be removed.
- —Encouragement of self-harm or eating disorders is strictly forbidden.
- —Illegal content or the promotion of criminal activities will result in immediate bans.
4. No Professional Authority
The Regret Wall is a peer-to-peer emotional archive. It is not a medical, legal, or psychological clinic. While we encourage support, users must recognize the limitations of this digital space.
- —Do not provide medical prescriptions or psychological diagnoses.
- —Legal advice given on the platform should be ignored—consult a professional.
- —Comments should focus on sharing similar feelings rather than giving directive advice.
5. Respecting the Collective Void
The Wall belongs to everyone who contributes to it. Treat every post with the dignity that raw vulnerability deserves. Interaction should be meaningful and considerate.
- —Mockery or trolling of others' pain is a violation of our community spirit.
- —Constructive engagement is welcomed; destructive criticism is not.
- —Report content that you believe violates these values.
6. Right to Moderation
To preserve the quality and safety of the repository, we reserve the right to curate the content. This includes the right to edit for clarity (rarely) or remove content entirely that violates these guidelines or the spirit of the project.
- —Removal is usually permanent and without prior notification.
- —Serious violations may lead to temporary or permanent access restrictions.
- —If you believe content was removed in error, use our Support page.
