Brought awareness to the connection between creativity and mental illness.
From *Mork & Mindy* to the Genie in *Aladdin*, Robin was a whirlwind of improv and energy. He could make a stone laugh. He was the world's favorite uncle.
But behind the smiles, he fought deep battles. In *Good Will Hunting*, he showed us his dramatic soul, winning an Oscar. He wasn't just funny; he was profoundly human.
He battled addiction and depression for decades. "The comedian is the one who stops the crying," he once said. He gave everything to us, leaving little for himself.
In 2014, the laughter stopped. A diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia later revealed the hidden enemy he was fighting. The world lost its spark that day.
