He battled addiction and depression for decades. "The comedian is the one who stops the crying," he once said. He gave everything to us, leaving little for himself.
In 2014, the laughter stopped. A diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia later revealed the hidden enemy he was fighting. The world lost its spark that day.
